New Club Germinates at The Poldhu
3rd March 2010
As the enthusiasm for growing fruit and vegetables across the county continues to flourish, The Polhu provides residents with their very own “potting shed”

The old conservatory next to the Library at The Poldhu, has proved the perfect place for enthusiastic residents to develop their gardening skills. The conservatory is in the process of being equipped with gardening tools and potting equipment and has begun to take on the air of a potting shed, providing residents with a peaceful haven to relax and enjoy getting back to nature.

Members can expect to find all the tools they need to enable them to grow and nurture plants from seeds of their choice. Gardening knowledge or experience is not necessary as members of The Swallowcourt Group’s gardening team will be on hand to provide advice and tuition.

However, we are sure the team will learn a few things themselves from some of the more experienced residents who have been gardening for many years!

A wide variety of plants are already being grown from flowers to fruits and vegetables, with tomatoes proving to be a popular choice.

John Geach, Head Chef at The Poldhu said “I source as many of my ingredients as possible from local suppliers and I am looking forward to including homegrown produce from our residents on the menu.”
