Station Villa celebrates Learning Disability Week with 60’s party

The staff and residents at Station Villa decided to mark the start of 2010 Learning Disability Week in true Station Villa style by throwing a 60’s fancy dress party.
Learning Disability Week is part of Mencap’s Getting It Right campaign ensuring that people with learning disabilities are given equal access to healthcare. Mencap has worked with healthcare professionals and Royal Colleges to develop the Getting It Right charter, which spells out 9 key activities that healthcare professionals should make to ensure equal access to health.
As you can see from the photos the residents, staff and visitors made a fantastic effort with their fancy dress outfits and had a great time dancing to tracks from the 60’s. The party was such a success that Station Villa have decided to throw parties on a regular basis starting with a Hawaiian theme this Sunday, 25th July, at 2.00pm. Everyone is welcome – hula skirts are optional. For more information contact stationvilla@swallowcourt.com or phone Tina Mclean 01736 755251.
