Since qualifying I have worked in complex elder care services both in the community and in ward settings. This is where I gained my knowledge of physical nursing. My speciality is in dementia care which includes mental capacity, deprivation of liberty and supporting those with behaviours that challenge. My ethos is upholding people’s rights, dignity and compassion.

She later moved into the private sector and started her career in care home management in 2010. After managing a variety of services, in 2015 she relocated to Cornwall and became the Manager at Ponsandane.

He was a care assistant for 12 years before qualifying as a mental health nurse and moving to Cornwall in 2007. Scott is a big believer in promoting people’s human rights and in ensuring our residents are treated in a dignified, respectful way.

I then became a fully qualified NVQ assessor and trainer, starting with Swallowcourt in 2016. I am passionate about learning and development, inspiring staff to feel empowered to provide outstanding care in their roles. I am responsible for all aspects of training, promoting high standards and ensuring that staff are fully competent in their roles. I am also the lead trainer for Dementia care and conflict management, providing all our homes and staff with bespoke support packages as and when needed.

In my spare time I’m Vice Chair of my local Village Community Association where I help run community events each year.
