Trevaylor Manor is a beautifully converted Georgian manor house, set in ten acres of landscaped gardens and woodland. Only two miles from the thriving town of Penzance it boasts wonderful views across the valley to St Michael’s Mount. The house is built on the site of a much older property mentioned in the Domesday Book and previously in the ownership of the Bishop of Exeter. To this day the beautiful walled garden at Trevaylor is still known as the “Bishop’s Garden”
The gardens are a wonderful feature of Trevaylor Manor. A wide expanse of lawn stretches from the front of the building framed in a wonderful collection of flowering shrubs and trees. Magnolia, Azalea, Rhododendron and Camellia are amongst the better known varieties alongside a host of other rarer species. The Home is surrounded by flowerbeds that provide an array of colour all year round. Residents have ready and regular access to the grounds, either direct from the building or via a wheelchair accessible pathway from the main drive.
Trevaylor Manor operates as two separate units. One unit offers a range of nursing and residential care, the other unit offers specialist dementia care packages.
Residential Care
Our residential care packages are for people who no longer want the burden of running a home, or for those who may find themselves alone perhaps after losing a partner and wish to enjoy the companionship of others. As Trevaylor Manor also provides nursing care there is no need to go through the trauma of finding a new home should your care needs increase. Our residential care packages can also be combined with our nursing packages for couples who want to stay together when one partner needs nursing care. Costs of our residential care packages vary depending on size and location of your chosen room.
Nursing Care
Our nursing care packages are provided by professional, qualified nurses for people who require general nursing care to those needing more specialised levels of care. Costs are dependent on a combination of room size and location and the level of nursing care required.
Residential Dementia Care
Our residential dementia care packages are designed for people in early stages of dementia. As Trevaylor Manor also offers specialist nursing in dementia care anyone receiving residential dementia care need not go through the additional trauma of moving to a new environment if their level of care becomes greater.
Nursing Dementia Care
Our dedicated and professional nursing team provide nursing dementia care packages designed for people who require high levels of care. Costs are dependent on the size and location of room and the level of nursing care required.
Psychiatric Disorders
Trevaylor Manor has a wealth of experience in nursing residents with severe psychiatric disorders. Costs are dependent on level of care and location and size of room.
At Trevaylor Manor we have a dedicated Recreational Co-ordinator who ensures there is a wide and varied programme of social and leisure activities offered to residents, appropriate to age and medical condition. The public are often invited to join residents at Trevaylor Manor for special events, including annual events such as the Summer Fete held each year in the grounds, Bonfire Night and the Christmas Bazaar. Other events are held on a regular basis for residents and their relatives and friends. Residents also attend outside clubs and community based events and enjoy trips out in our specially adapted minibus.
We would like to emphasize that our Dementia Care residents have equal access to the programme of social and leisure activities.
Our qualified and experienced chefs make use of the abundance of fresh, local produce to offer residents a varied menu that caters for all tastes. Requests for favourite foods are welcomed and special diets can be catered for. Relatives and friends are welcome to join residents for meals with prior notice.
